Nia Hanging Around

Nia saw some bigger kids hanging on the rings at the playground and she of course wanted to do it. We assumed there's no way she could even hold on let alone hang, but we were really surprised when she not only hung on, but did it 4 times, the longest for 10 seconds! Video below!

Nia, the Birthday Countdown

Nia is going to be 2 in less then 2 weeks. That is pretty huge. She has grown from a little pea pod to a little person. She is compassionate, empathetic, funny, mischievous and in general, a great kid despite the terrible twos.

Nia Goes Bowling

When Gillian was little, we started going Duckpin bowling. Kind of a tradition we have. A few weeks ago Melissa had an event at a bowling alley that happened to be a Duckpin bowling alley. Nia is pretty strong for her age and size, so we thought we would put a duckpin bowling ball in her hands and point her to the pins and see what happened...

Nia loves kisses from Mommy

Nia also loves hummus and pita.

Nia Vs The Hair Bows

Nia has very special hair, it's not just ethnic, or curly, or even describable. We have actually named her hair "Medusa". It has 3 distinct textures. The front is very bouncy with frivolous loose curls, the back has very tight almost spring like curls and the top, well, that's no mans land.

We have tried tons of products, and are still searching for the perfect formula. Some days Nia loves her hair, some days she doesn't. On days she loves her hair, she likes to put bows in it. Let me rephrase, she likes to put ALL her bows in her hair. Then she usually put them on me.

Fun At Momos

Just outside enjoying a fun day at Momo's house...

Nia B & W April 2011

just a couple of cute pics from a lazy Sunday afternoon... The pictures don't tell any story, but if those curls could speak they would have a lot to say...

Childrens Festival 2011

It was a really nice day and the Children's Festival was literally right down the street. there was lots to do and see. We played marbles, Nia got her first face painting, danced at the silent disco (where they give everyone headphones), rode the Merry-Go-Round, fed the animals int he petting zoo and even fed herself some Pepper Steak Lo Mein and Chai Bubble Tea.
